Introducing kairesilience.com — the international Kai Resilience framework gateway

Kai resilience is the capacity of people and places to access, grow, share, prepare and understand food in ordinary times and under disruption.

That idea sits at the heart of our Kai Resilience programme. Today we are pointing people to a new site built for that work at international scale: kairesilience.com.

What this site is for

kairesilience.com is the framework and assessment gateway. It explains the method, hosts the free Kai Resilience Check, and opens partnership conversations for communities, schools, organisations, researchers and funders adapting the approach in their own place.

It is not a marketing brochure. It is a systems tool: understand your system, measure it, strengthen it.

The site sets out five connected pillars — Know, Grow, Share, Learn, Connect — plus one non-negotiable principle: adapt to place. Climate, culture, land, institutions and local priorities shape what resilience means. The framework is a lens, not a template to force onto another context.

The Resilience Check

The Kai Resilience Check is a browser-based reflection for households, schools, community groups and organisations. It surfaces relative strengths and opportunities across food-resilience domains.

Important limits, said clearly:

• It is not a certification, ranking or emergency score

We deliberately separate roles across domains so each site does one job well:

The applied work in Aotearoa remains the origin. The .com site carries that method outward for people who need the framework without needing the New Zealand campaign narrative first.
