Yesterday was an exciting day at Troppo’s Tropical Urban Food Forest! We had the pleasure of hosting Sam from the popular White Strawberries podcast right here in Te Puke — a true honour to welcome someone whose passion for permaculture and sustainable living aligns so closely with our mission.
We have long been fans of Sam’s approach — she makes gardening and sustainability feel joyful and accessible, a sentiment that echoes through every corner of our food forest. Her podcast explores gardening with purpose and fun, and the importance of eating a diversity of life-giving foods. That is exactly what we strive for at Troppo: a thriving, resilient ecosystem.
The highlight was Sam sitting down with our founder, Stephen Fawcett, to record a special episode. We cannot wait to hear her share how Troppo was transformed from an ordinary urban space into a diverse, vibrant food forest — syntropic agroforestry, permaculture, community, and our shared journey toward food resilience and abundance.
We are excited for the release and will let you know as soon as the podcast is live!
