The Te Puke community is putting down roots for a more resilient future. Vector Group Charitable Trust is launching Crop Swap Te Puke — part of a growing nationwide movement and a key pillar of our kai resilience work through Grow Te Puke.

When food systems feel fragile, crop swaps are a powerful return to local solutions. Not a market — a free exchange. Gardeners, bakers, foragers, and crafters sharing the bounty of their labour without money changing hands.

It is a direct response to the need for connection and food security. We build systems that help residents access fresh, nutritious food, reduce waste, and meet their neighbours.

Why crop swapping? A harvest of benefits

Crop Swap Te Puke supports kai resilience in practical ways:

• Building a local food network: Growers and sharers connected here in Te Puke — less reliance on long-distance transport
